Fashion Film: The Great Gatsby

I was really inspired by the trailer for Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby after watching it upon its release last night. Jay-Z and Kanye West's 'No Church In The Wild' gave the film a modern and refreshing twist whilst Carey Mulligan looked absolutely beautiful, as usual (not to mention the drop dead gorgeous Leonardo DiCaprio). What was more striking was the costume designs featured throughout the trailer, the 20s 'flapper' theme and the drop-waist dresses - very on trend right now thanks to Gucci and Ralph Lauren - looked fantastic. Catherine Martin, the lady responsible for such fabulous costumes, has done an amazing job of creating a look and a feel in which you can get lost in and of an era which you will long to be a part of.

For me, the trailer in itself has topped the fabulosity of Moulin Rouge and I was quite frustrated to see The Great Gatsby isn't being released until Christmas, but undoubtedly, it shall be worth the wait.
